Albert Einstein

The finest emotion of which we are capable is the mystic emotion. Herein lies the germ of all art and all true science. Anyone to whom this feeling is alien, who is no longer capable of wonderment and lives in a state of fear is a dead man. To know that what is impenetrable for us really exists and manifests itself as the highest wisdom and the most radiant beauty, whose gross forms alone are intelligible to our poor faculties – this knowledge, this feeling … that is the core of the true religious sentiment. In this sense, and in this sense alone, I rank myself among profoundly religious men.

    • Ganz denger Meenung! Wanns du op den Tag “Albert Einstein” klicks ënnert dem Artikel dann fënns du nach e puer ganz interessant Zitater vun him. 🙂

  2. What we are refering to as a sense of wonder can be further defined as I believe AE is suggesting but we lack the fundimental hardware or mental processes to do so. It is this discrepancy between what we see and what exists that creats the conditions for a sense of wonder. This is my humble opinion.

    • Hi Ken,
Thanks a lot for your thoughtful comment. I absolutely agree with what you are saying about the discrepancy between what we see and what exists but I am not sure what you mean with the fundamental hardware. May be you could tell me more exactly what you mean.
